Overview

 

The Director of Commercial Contracts will oversee compliance and contract management across multiple locations. This role will be a key stakeholder in collaborations with clients and the business development teams.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management:
    • Oversee the Contracts Department, negotiating and finalizing government and commercial agreements (NDAs, CDAs, Master Service Agreements, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, managing federal contracts and subcontracts throughout their lifecycle.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for customer contracting officials and support audits and revenue projections.
  • Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the Contracts Department.
    • Implement policy updates related to government regulations (FAR, DFAR, etc.).
  • Federal Business Development:
    • Oversee maintenance of the SAM.gov account and engage with client procurement officials and policymakers.
    • Manage the production and submission of proposals for RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and grants, including responding to RFIs to gather information and shape proposal strategies.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor the Contracts Department team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Provide guidance and support for team members in contract negotiation and compliance processes.
  • Other Duties and Supporting Company Initiatives:
    • Participate in cross-functional teams to align contracts with overall business objectives.
    • Support company initiatives aimed at process improvment and operational effiicency. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a contracts leadership role, including reviewing NDAs, CDAs, Master Services Agreements, and RFIs.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in people management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience managing government contracts.
  • Background in a pre-clinical contract research organization.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience managing a

This position is hybrid and requires on-site attendance at the office in Indianapolis 2-3 times per week.

 

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
