Cage Wash Technician

The Cage Wash Technician is responsible for providing support to Inotiv’s research facility. This includes daily sanitization and preparation of laboratory equipment, including operation of a large bulk rack washer. Individuals must demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to work efficiently in individual and team settings.

Pay Range: $20 - $22 / hour

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level. This is a non-exempt role paying $20-22/hour.

• Daily operation and maintenance of a commercial cagewasher
• Cleans and sanitizes cages, cage lids, water bottles, and ancillary animal housing supplies and equipment (racks, feed bins) in accordance with SOPs
• Cleans cagewash facility, food and bedding storage area, access rooms, and associated Vivarium equipment to maintain facility in neat and orderly condition
• Prepares housing animals materials to include cages, water bottles, animal feed, metabolic racks and other ancillary equipment
• Sanitizes all deliveries (animal crates, equipment, materials, feed, bedding, etc.)
• Performs all other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma
• College courses in Animal Science or Husbandry or equivalent professional experience are highly desirable
• 0-3 years of work experience
• Computer proficiency (E-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Work will require PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently
• Good teamwork skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
