Overview

Now hiring a Technical Trainer for our DART program.

 

Responsibilities

 

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to laboratory health and safety
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Adherence to applicable company policies and guidelines
  • Adherence to federal and/or local regulations as applicable

 

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Follows all applicable SOPs and GLPs and demonstrates understanding of their importance in the toxicology research environment. Instruct others in importance of GLP, SOP and protocol compliance. 
  • Trains staff in proper documentation procedures.
  • Trains staff in life and post life procedures such as basic restraint, dosing, sample collection, necropsy and DART techniques for species within areas of expertise.
  • Evaluates technical skill competency for staff during the training process.
  • Able to learn and perform precisely, new handling, dosing, bleeding, necropsy or DART techniques/ procedures for all new species, as driven by business directives.
  • Assists other operational departments in establishing training programs
  • Demonstrates clear communication and patience during interactions with others in a teaching environment.
  • Must be able to follow a pre-designed training plan.
  • Assists with the development of discipline specific training programs for in life operations.
  • Provides consistent and thorough training for new and existing technical staff, and assure training is documented in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Assists in the creation of the in life training curriculum.
  • Recognizes the need for SOP creation and revisions. Writes and revises SOP within areas of expertise.
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to self direct work priorities.
  • Supports, complies with and enforces the company Health and Safety procedures.

 

Additional Responsibilities:(if applicable)

  • Assists in the development of data bases and on line training modules.
  • May work with support teams to design non-discipline specific training programs to meet technical lab operational needs.
  • May identify opportunities for process improvement within laboratory operations and participates in process improvement activities.

Professional Responsibilities:(if applicable)

  • ALAT certification desired.

Qualifications

  • B.S., B.A. or A.A.S. with strong emphasis in life science is preferred, however may be replaced by extensive lab experience in a toxicology research environment. Also may be replaced by past, proven performance of the aforementioned skills and qualifications.
  • Minimum two years experience in a toxicology laboratory environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, and the Provantis Data Collection System.
  • Ability to work with and tolerate laboratory animals.
  • Proficient in restraint, dosing and bleeding and other specialized animal techniques for multiple species.
  • Ability to interact with staff in a constructive and positive manner. 
  • Experienced in training staff in processes and techniques.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
